So Anime Vegas was this past weekend and I have still yet to recover from it all. XD The experience of being a convention photographer was absolutely amazing and I loved it so much, even though poor Erin and I only got about 4-5 hours of sleep each night. XDD

Honestly, it was unlike any convention I had ever been to. I was almost surprised by how...less cosplay there was then I'm used to. Usually when I go to cons it's cosplay here and there and everywhere! And while Anime Vegas did have a lot of cosplay, including some very impressive and well done work, it was still a lot less than what I was used to.

I have to even admit that the majority of my photos from the con are concert, contest and panel centric...not as much cosplay as usual (unless you count the Masquerade), and I didn't have any private shoots! That was really weird for me. o.o

But despite that I had a ridiculously great time. I made so many new friends and just had a blast. :)

Saturday night was a Sailor Senshi themed cosplay ball that I was a part of as Sailor Uranus. I borrowed the cosplay from one of the girls and just had a fantastic time. I like cosplaying a lot, it's just not something I do all that often. :3 ~

My favorite part was definitely the concerts - L33tstr33t Boys, Eyeshine and Red Bacteria Vacuum were SO MUCH FUN to shoot. Eyeshine is one of my favorite bands, so it was beyond an honor to shoot them. *3* I also think that a lot of my shots from those concerts are some of my best yet...so keep your eyes open for those and more in the coming weeks!

I bet this entry is really random and disoriented, but right when I got back to Missouri I was in full work/school/rehearsal mode. CON RECOVERY IS NOT ALLOWED. D:< <3

What a ridiculous summer! I was constantly working and had little to no time for photo shoots. I'm a bit bummed about that, but I can't help but feel accomplished by how much I did manage to do this summer.

Summer usually ends up being my busiest time of year when it comes to the actual career I'm aspiring for, so now that it's over I can go back to focusing on other things - like conventions! haha! <3

I'll be attending my first con IN A YEAR over Labor Day Weekend - Anime Las Vegas! I'm so excited, this will be the furthest I've traveled for a con. :O! But it is certainly not without good reason - I'll be visiting one of my very best friends and will be the Assistant Photographer for the entire con! I'm nervous about the responsibility, but the con photographer (Miss :iconerinchu: ) is fantastic, and I can't wait to work with such a wonderful person. :3 <3

The only downside is that AV is the same weekend as AnimeFest, so I'll be missing out on a fun con with my lovely WHCGP friends. But I know they'll have a stellar time and I can't wait to exchange stories and photos with them. :) <3

Let me know if you'll be at Anime Vegas! :D!

I have some pretty intense classes this semester, but hopefully I'll have enough break time to attend a few smaller conventions in the Missouri/Arkansas area... :fingers crossed!

Just a quick update: I've upgraded to a pro account on Flickr, so from now on all of my photos will be featured on that site while I upload a select few here to deviantArt. I just don't want to overwhelm you all with deviations. :3

My Flickr account will hold (in addition to cosplay photography) all of my many photos from Europe, and also the photos from a little project I started the other day called 365days. Simply, I take a photo of myself every day. I know it sounds like one of those boring, generic, vain-ish projects, but I'm looking at it as an opportunity to become more creative with my photography, add a visually artistic outlet to my day-to-day life, and to help me become a better subject for photography (my goodness I can be horribly unphotogenic DX)

[link]

I had to pick up a second job, so I have very little free time, thus I'm sorry if my deviantArt becomes a bit quiet in the weeks to come. There are some days where I work from 8am - 10:30pm. Ah, the life of a poor college student.

That's all for now! xoxo

I won't lie, it's great to be back home.  Especially when back home has allowed me to plan and execute numerous photoshoots.  I was lucky enough to shoot three last weekend and I have two planned this week, while many more are in the work for this summer.  It's all just so exciting! :D

There are still a good bunch of Europe photos to upload, but I'll save them for the downtime between cosplay shoots.

The next con I'll be attending is Anime Vegas over Labor Day Weekend, so if you'll be there let me know!  I'll even be cosplaying at this con! hohohoho! <3

I caved and renewed my premium membership.  I tried to hold out without it, but it's just so nice and user friendly...I had to spend the money on it. ;~;

Can you believe it? Nine days until I return to the states. I honestly still cannot believe this all worked out. Due to multiple complications and reasons, all preparation and finances for London had to be dealt with on my own. I was so scared, I had no idea what to do or how to do it, but here I am...nearly a week from leaving after a 3 1/2 month stay here.

Part of me is jealous, because the weather is finally beautiful. It's almost perfect, and I know it's already getting pretty hot back home.

I don't know how much you all follow the news, but I was dead worried for a while there, concerning the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in Iceland. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, a volcano erupted on the southern coast of Iceland and the strength of the eruption and unfortunate weather conditions (no wind or rain at ALL. Honestly, the ONE time it stops raining in London is when we need it most XDD) sent a huge ash cloud to Europe, which floated in airspace and didn't move and caused every - single - airport in Europe to close down. There was panic everywhere, since it happened right at the end of Easter holiday - students, teachers, parents, children were all stranded in various parts of the continent and couldn't get home. The trains and coaches were all completely full and some people were leaving England and heading to Spain to catch planes out of there, since their airports were occasionally opened. However, all airports have opened up again (a week of no flights in or out of the majority of Europe...it was insane.), but the economy has taken a huge beating...I think I read somewhere that it's the worse deficit since World War II.

Two girls that I know in my program had to cancel a very anticipated trip to Malta and my flatmate's mom (who was visiting) had to stay an extra couple of days...she planned on leaving Monday and just left this morning. Not to mention, all of the other study programs are supposed to leave this weekend...I think they're okay, so I hope they get to head home on schedule.

It wouldn't have been horrible to be stuck in London a couple more days, but my study program was going to charge a small fortune for every day after our term that we stayed here. I simply wouldn't have been able to afford it. Plus, I'm ready to see my family and friends, get back to MAKING money (*paws at dwindling bank account XD*) and just get back to REAL life (I'm a total workaholic. VACATION TIME IS OVER XD). Also...get some photoshoots done! :D

I'm positive of three so far - Himawari from xxxHolic, Fairy Yuna from Kingdom Hearts and Guy Cecil from Tales of the Abyss. I should be able to comfortably squeeze them all in before I start my summer job on the 17th. 8D

Semesters are winding now, so I know everyone is starting to cram and study and freak about finals. Just remember to pace yourself and get plenty of rest! You can do it!!

As you can see from my two latest deviations, I made it to Paris and am now back in London. Paris is a really interesting city, and the whole thing was kind of surreal. My best way to describe it is if London is the responsible older brother, Paris is the bohemian little sister. xD I do believe it's a city much more worth visiting during the summer...so I hope that at one point in my life I can return to see everything in bloom. Not to mention, it was just freezing when I went there. xD (But it's lovely in London now. Sorry to all of you with snow! xP)

I pretty much hit every main tourist attraction, plus spending an entire day at le Château de Versailles. I think that was my favorite part of the trip...another perfect example of a beautiful place that could only be more beautiful in the summer. Since it's low season and winter, all of the statues were covered, the fountains were off and nothing was in bloom. But it was still gorgeous and my friend and I spent the entire day walking around the entire estate.

The day after we went to the Louvre and covered every single available area in 7 hours. My feet were in such pain after two days of non-stop walking.

A little known fact about me is that my first serious career dream was to be an Egyptologist...so the Egyptian exhibit at the Louvre was one of the neatest experiences ever. I saw an actual mummy! >O<~~!!! *_* It was -so- cool. :}

Coming up next are Scotland and Barcelona, back-to-back. It'll be a crazy week, but I can't wait! My flatmates and I just keep talking about doing nothing but relaxing on the beach in Barcelona. I don't think it'll be warm enough to swim, but I just can't wait to lay in the sand all day. *_*

With just a little over a month left here, I can confidently say that I'm ready to go home. I absolutely adore London. I love the way the city is set up, I find comfort in the people and I've grown accustomed to the transportation, shopping and general living of London. I know I'll miss it, but what it's done more than anything is just made me realize how much I love and appreciate where I live and who is there. I can't wait to have my car back, to drive around Kansas City, to hang out with my friends in Springfield, to eat yummy food without costing a pretty penny...I'll be sad to say goodbye to London, but even happier to say hello to America. :)

Besides! My return to America means my return to cosplay photography. I cannot wait! >o<~! I miss it so much~ ;~;

If you guys have any requests of things you want to see in London, lemme know in the comments, and I'll do my best to go out and get a shot of it for you. :3 <3

Traveling Begins!

It's hard to believe that February is drawing to a close and I've been in London for a month and a half now.  It's even harder to believe that I only have about two months left.  I've only traveled outside of the city three times, and I haven't left the country.  This will soon change.

In two weeks I'll be heading to Paris for my Spring Break.  I'm going with Blake and we plan to spend at least two days at the Louvre...I am so excited.  I'm not sure what their policy is on photography, but I will absolutely have exterior shots of Paris to upload.

I recently received an e-mail about a weekend trip to Scotland in mid-March, and I am definitely considering it.  My flatmates all left for Scotland this evening, but I couldn't go with them because of my internship.  I was bummed at first, but then Scotland was hit with a ridiculous amount of snow...so now I'm not so bummed about missing out this weekend. xD;

The first weekend of April is our Easter Break, and while most of Europe will be heading down to Rome, my flatmates and I will be scooting off to Barcelona!  We're trying to find a hostel near the beach so we can just lay out and relax the entire weekend.  I am very much looking forward to it...I've never been to a genuine beach during warm weather!  I went to a beach in California once, but it was early March and still pretty chilly. :X

My dream excursion through Italy will, unfortunately, not be happening this trip (I don't get to go ANYWHERE in Italy! ;___; ).  But this will not be the last time I come to Europe, I will make sure of that...Italy -will- happen one day!  And then I can go to the tokidoki home store and fight lions and sing with a Gondolier and slip a love note into Juliet's wall.  Alas~

In COSPLAY news, I believe my next con will be Anime Vegas in Las Vegas, NV in early September.  It's so far away (time-wise)...but I cannot wait!  One of my best friends lives in LV, so I cannot wait to see her. ;~;

But right when I return to the states at the end of April, I have a few photoshoots lined up...I am very excited about those...they're going to be fantastic. :3

And this summer, I might even attempt a cosplay of my own and do a photoshoot with :iconpixelbaker: He's -my- official photographer. :3 <3

I hope everyone is staying warm back home and that the semester is going smoothly for those of you studying.  Cheers~! <3

Happy February!
February is one of my favorite months! Aside from being my birthday month, it's just a cute little month...I love all of the life that it brings to winter, mainly due to Valentine's Day. I've never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day itself, but at least it adds some cheerful colors to the dreary atmosphere of January winter.

London is going well. I had some intense drama with a missing wallet. I thought someone stole it out of my backpack - pickpocketers are terrifyingly skilled here - but I just received an e-mail saying that someone called my study center (I had a contact card in it, thank goodness!) saying that it had been turned into a hotel! Why a hotel, I have no idea, but I'm just so thankful that someone was kind enough to go out of their way and return my wallet. Along with my debit/credit card (which, since I thought the wallet had been stolen, have unfortunately been turned off...), student IDs, license and a picture of my father, I had £20 in there...honestly, if they took that, I would be fine with that! They can consider it a reward for returning it. :)

All of the students here are beginning to financially plan their spring breaks...I want nothing more than to go to Italy (Verona, Venice and Milan in particular...), but I have no one to go with! I'm sad...I certainly don't want to go alone. ;_;
There is however a trip coming up that involves Wales and cliff diving, along with other extreme sporting events. I'm tempted to go! :D

I'll try to be better with uploading pictures on here of my adventures in London...as long as you guys don't mind them? I've taken a ridiculous amount, and I keep my Facebook regularly updated, but that's only for family and close friends, so I know not everyone has access to it. I do upload highlights to my friend's and my blog:

So you can find them there if I start slacking off on here! :)

Speaking of links, here are a couple of random sites I'm a part of:

--Have a question? Ask here! :D
Flickr: [link]
--I'm considering purchasing a pro account soon so I can upload more photos

A Foggy Day (In London Town)

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 14, 2010, 5:45 PM

I'm in London! :D

The plane ride was pretty awful, I have to admit. But then again, I don't do very well in planes, and the Atlantic has some wicked turbulence. Luckily for me I was sitting on top of the wing, so it wasn't as horrible as it could have been. @__@

We touched down about 8:30am after leaving St. Louis at 1:25pm the previous day (London is 6 hours ahead, so it was technically a 1:25pm - 2:30am with a short lay-over in Dallas). They had options of TV shows/movies/documentaries that you could watch, so I spent the trip watching The Office and Paper Heart. w00t!

We (referring to my friend Blake and I) found other students from our organization and waited for about an hour or two with them before we were swept away to our flats. Blake's is so nice, and mine is pretty nice too, but his is MUCH more Londonish, so I'm a bit jealous. :3

The first day two days have consisted of walking tours and orientations and getting settled in our small flats. Blake and I have been exploring during all of our free time, and I'm pretty sure I've walked/traveled the tube a total of 12 hours in the past two days. My calves are killing me! D:

I finally found out my internship, though! It was a bit harder locating a Sound internship, so that's why it took longer. I'll be at the Kings Head Theatre & Pub, and I'm very excited. I have an interview on Monday, so yay!

So far, my favorite thing about London is the exterior architecture of flats and the tube. I could walk around all day and be content. I haven't taken any pictures yet since it's been particularly dreary and cold. I might this weekend, though.

Speaking of this weekend, we might head out to Dublin for a guys 21st! I won't be drinking, but it would still be fun.

And speaking of drinking, I went to my first pub tonight. It was an awesome atmosphere and just a handful of us went. Once again, didn't drink but ate a delicious dinner and had fun with the kids. ^_^

All of the students are very nice and I'm enjoying myself very much. But let me tell you, London is expensive! whew!

Eep! Five Days!

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 7, 2010, 7:30 PM

Eep! Five Days!

The nerves are definitely starting to settle in regarding my very very very soon trip to London. It seems that all of the snow in the world is falling in the midwest of the United States and in London. I can't even imagine what I'll do if my flight gets delayed in any way. *panic panic anxiety paranoia*

Speaking of delays, my internship assignment has been delayed. -_-; I really really need to know what it is so I can do the proper research before I leave! I don't know what's taking them so long. *pouts* My friend, however, received an internship at OXFORD UNIVERSITY for Stage Management. LUCKY DOG. *shakes a fist*

I haven't even started packing, but I'm being silly and going on one last road trip this weekend - to HOUSTON. Gah! A friend of mine scored a great role in a musical, so my friend and I are driving down to see him. I can't wait to see him! ^//^

I have the general idea of everything I'm taking to London...I just need to pack it all into my one suitcase I'm taking. I hope I don't regret that decision. xD;

In more exciting news, I treated myself to a new flash for Christmas - a sb600 for my Nikon. It's amazing! I tested it out at the Christmas/Anime/Goodbye party I had with my friends back home, and all of the pictures came out lovely! I cannot wait to use it at a con! ^__^

I'm hoping to hit up Kitacon while I'm in London...*fingers crossed!*

Alright, I'm off to bed...we're leaving at 4:30am for Houston tomorrow. Gah!

Ma Belle Evangeline

Ma Belle Evangeline

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to my watchers and friends. Personally, Christmas has lost most of the magic and wonder that it used to hold for me, so I'll leave the Christmas discussion at that.

For the past couple days I've been absolutely obsessed with The Princess and the Frog. Has everyone seen it? It's an amazing movie, and it fits in perfectly with all of the Disney Princess musical classics that it will soon be viewed with. Watching it, I could see myself enjoying it as a child, but I also enjoyed it as an adult, which was an amazing mix. It's probably my second favorite movie of the year (Star Trek took me by such surprise that it'll hold my number one for 2009 spot indefinitely xD) And the soundtrack is so catchy, I've been listening to it nonstop for the past day or two. I hope Disney sticks with it's 2D Broadway-style animation. I love it so much. ;~;

Not to mention, Tiana is such an amazingly strong character. I relate to her probably more than any other Disney Princess/heroine, save Mulan. Tiana and Mulan are definitely my favorite because they're just such strong-willed individuals. I really like the message Tiana represents - hard work is what you need to achieve your dreams, never lose sight of them or what's important in your life. The messages Tiana's dad taught her were the same ones my dad taught me, and it ended up being a major father-daughter connection based movie. So it's for very sentimental and personal reasons that I loved the movie so much. :)

I mentioned on my Facebook that I liked it more than Avatar and I was practically attacked. haha. xD;;

The movie has also inspired a new dream shoot - Tiana and Naveen. Aaahh I would love to shoot them! ;~~; Naveen is my favorite prince, hands down. He's such a hopeless player, but Tiana turns him around. And guys, he plays ukulele. Come ooonnn, it can't get any better than that! <3

I had my first London dream last night, but it was more of a nightmare...my Visa didn't get here on time! *bites lip nervously* I hope it gets here soon so I can stop worrying about it. x__x

I'm going to go enjoy the blizzard now. :D

HAPPY WINTER BREAK! 8D

I ended up getting wonderfully fabulous grades (aka better grades than I expected D8) so that's put me in a lovely mood:

Drawing and Rendering for the Theatre II: A-
Drafting for the Stage: A
Design Seminar II (Lighting & Scenic): A
BFA Review: A
Lovely semester 3.8 GPA~ :'D

Now that winter break is here and for the first time since last January I am not in school, working on a show or working my retail job, I am sitting back and playing video games and just relaxing before my long and faraway trip to London next semester (my mom can't talk about it without crying. D'8) I was so hoping to do a photoshoot or two this break, but I don't know if I'll be able to make it to see :iconmalindachan: or if :iconhachiko77: will have a new cosplay to shoot. Woe is me~, my portfolio needs moar and I don't know how many cosplayers I'll randomly be bumping into in London... *cries*

When I do go to London, this deviantArt account will temporarily turn into an architectural/landscape/everyday model account instead of cosplay. I'll hunt through my harddrive for any old cosplay photos I may have missed uploading and theatre photos I haven't processed yet, but you guys won't leave me, will you? ;_; I'll have the cosplay back when I back to the states~ ;____;

I keep sitting around and watching TV or playing my DS, and I think "I really need to stop and get some work done....WAIT. THERE IS NONE. *melts into happiness."

Being nonstop for almost a year takes it out of you! *takes a nap* ^________^

I cannot believe Thanksgiving break is next week. I have so much to do before then, but for now I'm allowing myself a very short break. I went and saw one of my favorite bands in concert tonight, and it was amazing! My university's Student Activities Council brought them, so it was a good venue with a decent crowd (not small, but not huge either) and wonderful ticket prices. You just can't beat seeing Motion City Soundtrack for $12. XD And I went with one of my roommates; which was really nice, since we haven't been able to do anything social together lately (such busy, conflicting schedules. ;~; ) Afterwards, I even go a picture with the lead singer! It was a wonderful night.

Since I have all of the A-Fest cosplay photos uploaded, and I don't have any cons planned anytime soon, I'm going to be uploading a lot of concert and theatre pictures in the coming months. I have three concerts sitting on my computer (Eyeshine, Hellogoodbye and Motion City Soundtrack) and a LOT of theatre photos (I offered to run the photocall for six one acts. Sooo many pictures. @.@)

Can you guys believe that it's been almost a year since the Yuki Cross photoshoot with :iconhachiko77: ? That photoshoot is was got me onto deviantArt. I might dig up some photos from the set that I haven't uploaded to celebrate the one-year on the 26th. :3

:iconex-shadow: just posted this, and I thought it was cute, so I'm gonna do it, too! :D

THE BASICS:
Write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE:
** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA for the sake of privacy.

** Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!

STEP TWO:
** Surf this forum ( [link] ) and browse the lists. Here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

+My list+

1.) I wish to spend Christmas with my family - to go home and sit around and just talk and laugh and not worry about money or school or anything like that.

2.) I wish for my cousin to beat the breast cancer she was recently diagnosed with.

3.) I wish for a pretty, gorgeous new flash for my Nikon. *_* Preferably one that works just wonderfully indoors~~

4.) I wish for a little extra cash for London so I don't end up spending -all- of my student loans (don't worry, I won't actually spend it all! XDD)

5.) I wish to see Hachi, Franny, Bridget, Amanda, Marina and Echo - my Kansas City anime/cosplay/best friends. We haven't had one of our amazingly enjoyable anime/cosplay/baking/games nights in a really, really long time. :(

6.) I wish to make it to Vegas to finally physically meet one of my best friends, :iconerinchu:

7.) I wish for this major step in my life that I have finally taken to help me accept, forgive, and move on.

8.) I wish for pretty pretty Princess Tutu and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles fanart. -^^-! (I just had to! XD)

9.) I wish for the time to make a new cosplay. I miss cosplaying~ ;~;

10.) I wish for everyone to find happiness and love in their holiday season!

When I was younger, like maybe eleven or twelve, I witnessed something that would change my life forever. As I walked out of the mall with my father after unsuccessfully looking for a present for my mom, we saw a mom and daughter getting out of a car. The car was probably the most pathetic automobile I had ever seen - the door was being held closed with a rope, it was making the strangest noise, and paint was chipping all over it. Without a moment of hesitation, my dad walked over to the mom, handed her a $100 bill, and told her to buy something special for her daughter. Then he took my hand and walked away.

It wasn't until after my father passed away that I learned that this was not an out-of-the blue thing. He adopted families at Thanksgiving and Christmas, always took food to Soup Kitchens, and secretly donated money to friends and strangers that needed it the most (there was another time that we snuck an envelope of money into a struggling friend's mailbox at Christmas.)

As a college student who is now paying for college entirely on her own, I'm unable to help out as much as I would like to. But I still do what I can, when I can. I do so not only because I want to, but I want to keep my father's memory alive. I hope his story inspires you to do what you can to give this season. It doesn't even have to be money; even a kind smile to a stranger or a helpful gesture to a fellow holiday shopper can make a world of difference to someone. I work retail, I definitely know that that's true. :)

So to all of you, have a wonderful holiday season! I know it seems premature to say that, but technically, it starts next Thursday. :3

Seasons

Life has finally slowed down, so here's an update as to what's going on! :)

First and foremost, I Love You Because wrapped up about two weeks ago, and I just had such an amazing experience with it.  At times it was so frustrating, but in the end, I was so happy with my work and what I did.  I even had one of those,  "I can see myself doing this for the rest of my life." moments during one of the performances.  It was great; I cannot wait to start mixing again. ^__^
I've been uploading some pictures from it, so here are a couple if you missed them.  I think I have a couple more I'll be uploading soon...

Right after ILYB ended, I was hit with London preparations.  It's been a whirlwind of confusion, panic and excitement all mixed into one.  Unfortunately, the confusion and panic were taking over, so I was having one heck of a time for awhile there.  But everything has fallen into place, and I can be excited again!  I applied for my passport today, so next is officially applying for my internship and then my visa, once my passport is all taken care of (expediting is convenient, but so expensive! x_x).  I am so excited, though.  I can't even begin to describe it.  ^_^ Especially about the internship!  I so hope it works out~ <3

I believe I've pretty much wrapped up the photoshoots from Animefest.  I'm starting to get the con blues, especially since I know I won't be attending one for a very long time.  Whenever I think about missing Naka-Kon, I'm overwhelmed with sadness.  :(  I know London is way better than Naka-Kon, but Naka-Kon is just the only time I'm ever able to see all of my best friends from home at once.  I miss them dearly, and we always have such amazing times at the con...

I've updated my portfolio for my next BFA review, and these photos made the cut.  Everyone in my class thinks you all are so talented.  ^___^

Finally, I have a huge favor to ask you guys.  Recently, one of my favorite bands, Mae, had their van stolen, which held all of their equipment and merchandise for their current tour.  This band is not only so talented, but this entire year they have been releasing their three albums a song at a time, available only through donate to download.  They've helped so many charities through this, and I'm just beyond sad that something this unfortunate has happened to them.  If you're able to, please donate to the band to help them get back on their feet.  Not only is their charity work amazing, but they're living their dreams, and sharing them with us.  I can't help but want to help people who have the courage to do that. :)

And if you're interested in donating to download their music, here's their website.  Their songs are amazing, and they are seriously one of the most talented bands I have ever had the privilege to stumble upon.

Hold On~

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 9, 2009, 9:09 PM
Fall Break is next weekend, and then the following week is the entire process of 10/12, Dress Rehearsal and performances of the musical I'm working on.  Which means that soon, oh so soon, I will be able to focus entirely on just school work and photoshoots.  There are some outdoor Left 4 Dead shots left, a private shoot I did, and now I have two concerts to edit (Eyeshine from Animefest and hellogoodbye from the Beaumont).  I'm not even going to think about the skit shots I took for now.  But as long as I don't have a horrible amount of homework over Fall Break, I'll try to finish up before I return to my university for 10/12 on Sunday. Yikes.

For the millionth time, I'm sorry.  I usually don't take this long, but I've had a really rough week and a half (personal reasons, I'm perfectly healthy and all so don't worry) that just really threw me off track and put me in a funk.  (I feel like I haven't accomplished one thing in the past week. *woe*)  And school has just been SUCH a jerk. D:<

Let's do some photography features next.  First five PHOTOGRAPHERS to comment this entry will receive a three-deviation feature on my journal.  Photographers need more love.

That's all for now~

Don't Stop Believin' (General Features!)

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 3, 2009, 12:13 AM
As I further procrastinate (no, never procrastinate. School work. Yes, school work...) against finishing the photoshoots from Animefest, I've decided to jump on the feature bandwagon.  The first ten people to comment this journal will have my favorite three deviations of there's featured in my journal (honestly, I just want to use my pretty subscription to it's fullest).

This is what I'd like to call the "General Features" list! In the future, I plan on doing 10 Photographer Features, 10 Cosplayer Features, 10 Drawing Features, etc. I had a lot of fun doing this and looking through everyone's galleries. ^_^

Being a theatre major, it is my civic duty to inform one and all of any wonderful, amazing, spectacular productions that may be roaming around the Midwest. And today, I have quite the treat:

For anyone in or near Kansas City MO, I highly highly oh-so-highly recommend a trip to the Kansas City Repertory Theatre to witness the amazing production of Into The Woods. Directed by Moises Kaufman (who squeeled? Anyone? Anyone? I did.), it features an absolutely amazing cast and crew. The set is gorgeous and the actors fit their characters to the T. A friend of mine is working crew for the show, so she invited me and a friend up to see it. The three-hour drive from my college and the return to my apartment at 3:30am (followed by studying for an hour and four hours of sleep before a test the next day. RAWK.) was absolutely and completely worth it.

The show featured elaborate and beautiful costumes, real trees incorporated into the set at all times, actors and set pieces flying in and out, trap door escapes, wardrobes as tall as the proscenium, wonderful singing, giants screaming, fantastic puppetry and an entire piece of the set that flies in and out. My friend and I were completely blown away. It's been extended through October 11th, and tickets are selling FAST! Go! Go! GO!

Speaking of theatre, the musical I'm designing opens in three weeks.

PS: The Glee version of "Don't Stop Believin'" is just ridiculously amazing and has been on repeat for the past hour. Bless you, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith.

PSS: Can we just talk about how much I love hellogoodbye? Because I really love hellogoodbye. I finally saw them live tonight and despite some audio difficulties that they couldn't control, it was an amazing show. One day, I will make sure those audio difficulties do not happen. D<
Also met Forrest Kline and Travis Head. Which means my life is complete.

Here Comes the End Again

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 27, 2009, 6:27 PM
It's absolutely amazing how many pictures I took at Animefest. I really feel like I need to work on my OCD photoshoot tendencies. I always just want to take at least two or three shots of the same pose because I never want to lose a pose because I messed up. You know? Nothing bothers me more than that.

I'm pleased to say that the majority of my cosplay photoshoots are done. I'm working on the Left 4 Dead shoots I did with Jen and Bill and then everyone after we returned to our room from *Kuragiman 's shoot.

But even after that I have a personal shoot, the Eyeshine concert and then the Skit contest. Yeeps.

I think I mainly wanted to update with a new entry so I could get that long text-wall off my page. :D

So after weeks of stress between school, work and my plans for next semester, I had my first mild meltdown today. ohhohohoho. I responded by...spending money. o_o One of the things I bought was a premium subscription. Just a little 3-month one! I was curious to see what it was like and if it was worth the cash. We shall see....

School is still busy, work is still driving me crazy, and London is still a headache. Yay for no changes! xD

-CURRENT EDIT-

LEFT 4 DEAD :D

-END CURRENT EDIT-

I know that more than a summary of the con by yours truly, you all are concerned about the process of my photo editing. :D So, here's the down-low.

For DeviantArt and MySpace ([link]) I will be uploading the highlights. I have a -ton- of pictures from this con, and I don't want to spam everyone on here with every single picture that I took (I can already tell from the 5d's shoot that I'm keeping a lot. You guys are just all so photogenic! XD). However, I will be spamming all of my Flickr ([link]) contacts with all of the pictures. xD I'll wait until I have an entire photoshoot completed before I upload it to Flickr, but I've been uploading to DA as I've been editing.

School and work do take priority over photo editing, but things are working out so that I've been able to spend at least an hour a night on shots. ^__^

Here's a list of all the photoshoots I did, so you can keep up to date with what's finished, what's being worked on, and what's coming up next (as I'm editing in the order of shoots)

I'll also be linking to all of the cosplayers involved in the shoot so I can keep track of them easily. If you don't see your icon under the shoot, let me know and I'll add it! ^_^
